About EnergySnap
Yet another energy company?
Is EnergySnap just another one of the UK’s energy companies?
Sure, you could say that and nobody would correct you. Afterall, we do work in and around the UK’s energy sector to try and save people money and earn a living for ourselves too.
But what may set EnergySnap apart is the way we are structured, and our missions.
Mission 1: Save Energy
In a capitalist world, using more energy usually means spending more money. Nowadays most of our homes run on a mix of gas and electricity and usually too much of both.
We help you learn more about how to conserve energy for the sake of the environment and your bank balance.
It is our belief that while we now live in a hyper-digital world, perhaps we need to start looking to the past for answers, as well as the future.
Mission 2: Save Money
Ever compared what you pay to heat your home now with what you would have paid 10 years ago? Sure, post-covid and Brexit inflation means that almost everything has gone up in price in the UK, but Energy price rises have really been something specials.
EnergySnap’s focus is on information empowerment, letting people know how they can save money in their homes when it comes to energy, and helping them unlock grants like ECO4 to help carry the cost.
Mission 3: Save The Planet
Climate change is real. We don’t state it as an opinion, but as a fact.
The outlook isn’t currently too rosey either: the UK is busy opening new oil and gas fields in the North Sea while Europe and the UK is seeing the warmest January temperatures on record (Guardian).
We believe not enough is being done by soceity and humanity as a whole to combat this. We need a mix of ‘learning to leave the lights off’ mixed with ‘powering them sustainably’ in the first place if we are to surivive on this planet.
How we work
With those 3 missions in mind, how is EnergySnap making a contribution?
Independently
While we have close ties with some good companies and individuals, EnergySnap Ltd is privately owned and we intend to keep it that way. We won't sign exclusivity contracts or anything we feel compromises our missions.
Informatively
We want you as our users to learn as much as you can about how to save energy, save money and save the planet, even if we don't profit from it directly. Our strategy includes helping people get their head around energy for a better world.
Environmentally
It's hard not to have an impact on the environment, but we believe that all the money in your pockets (and ours) is no good to anyone on a dead planet. We are fully remote, no offices, no gas-guzzling vans and we are still looking or ways to be better.
Where we work
Launched in early 2024, EnergySnap has barely got out of its St Helens backyard just yet, but we’re happy to speak to companies and individuals all over the UK as we continuely look for ways to expand our service and help more and more people.
Our founder, Tom, feels a little bit sick everytime he has to sit in traffic, burning fossil fuels to turn a computer on in a different part of town, and hopes to keep EnergySnap fully remote as it continues to grow.
Our Services
Right now, EnergySnap is just out of the starting gates, but you can see the plans we have to help more and more people from St Helens outwards.
ECO4 Referrals
We help households establish if they can claim for ECO4 or GBIS to get free boilers, insulation, solar panels and more.
Information
We research and publish content that helps people save money, energy and the planet. This content is free to reach, watch and share.

Our Principles
Many years ago, Tom found himself in a tough spot. He didn’t think the work he was being asked to do was particularly ethical, and certainly not what he had been hired to do. His concerns were not well received by his employer. Young and struggling financially, he slept on it, and decided that although he had principles, he was struggling to AFFORD those principles.
Now, in a time of climate change, predicted mass extinction and financial upheaval, we think we can’t afford NOT to stick to our principles.
While we are human and therefore still makes mistakes and imperfect decisions, we won’t let ourselves put our principles on the back burner. We have to try to make a stand.
